NetSuite AI and NetSuite Next
Oracle markets NetSuite Next as the next generation of the NetSuite ERP, with an assistant called Ask Oracle and AI built into accounting, close and analytics. Alongside it sits a longer list of NetSuite AI features, some included and some sold as add-on modules.
What NetSuite Next is
Oracle announced NetSuite Next at SuiteWorld on October 7, 2025, saying it would reach customers in North America first, within twelve months. An April 2026 release extended that to Southeast Asia on a similar timeline. NetSuite's homepage now says NetSuite Next is available, but we couldn't confirm a general-availability date or region list because the release notes require a login.
The centerpiece is Ask Oracle, a natural-language assistant that searches, analyzes and takes actions in NetSuite and cites the data behind its answers. Oracle says users can choose whether to approve key decisions or let agents act on their own, which is why the listing records review as configurable.
NetSuite AI features
Oracle groups several capabilities under NetSuite AI. The ones most relevant to accounting teams:
- Bill Capture
- Extracts vendor bill data from invoices for AP staff to review. Sold as an add-on module.
- Exception management
- Surfaces transactions that need attention during the close.
- Narrative Insights and Text Enhance
- Generated summaries of reports and assistance drafting business text.
- Planning and budgeting insights
- AI assistance inside NetSuite's planning tools.
- AI Connector Service
- A Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector that lets outside AI tools work with NetSuite data under role-based permissions.
What it costs: AI Units
NetSuite doesn't publish prices; it is sold as an annual subscription for the platform, modules and users. AI Units are included at no additional cost with eligible user licenses, and customers can buy more. Add-on modules with AI, such as Bill Capture, are priced outside that model, and the AI Connector Service doesn't consume units.
What Oracle says about your data
Oracle's NetSuite terms say prompts sent to OpenAI endpoints use zero data retention, meaning they are not logged for human review or kept by OpenAI. Oracle's AI terms say customers keep rights to their inputs and that customer content is protected under the cloud agreement. Neither document, as we read them, says whether customer data is used to train models, so the listing marks training unconfirmed. Ask Oracle for that answer in writing.
NetSuite states that it is audited to SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2 and certified to ISO 27001 and PCI DSS. Oracle names Cohere, OpenAI models and OCI Generative AI among the models NetSuite uses.
